In reply to Nate. That really means a lot, Nate, thanks for saying so. I worked hard on that one and had no idea if anyone else would find value in it. What a great movie.

I didn’t comment on it at the time (mainly because I don’t have anything to add to it), but your Psycho review is probably my favorite one you’ve ever written here. It makes me like the movie even more, which is really saying something.

In reply to ED. I actually just watched The Sheep Detectives with my kids and liked it quite a lot. I hope to write about it in the coming days! I've heard just a bit about Subservience, and will add to my to-watch list for sure!

In reply to Dan Stalcup. Thank You for sharing such interesting thoughts on so many films and for your patience with an audience! (By the way, if you have not seen THE SHEEP DETECTIVES as yet then please accept my wholehearted recommendation; if you’re willing to consider something a bit less perfectly-formed, you could do worse than SUBSERVIENCE, which has an interesting element of Robot Nightmare as Family Tragedy that persuade me to recommend it).

In reply to Thrash. Thanks, Thrash! That would be the hottest mixtape of 2025 for sure

In reply to ED. Haha, I guess we've only had his early rise with The Apprentice. If anyone can handle the other end of the candle it would be Ianucci I believe. Thanks for stopping by as always ED!

In reply to Mitch Capps. Thanks, Mitch, it means a lot. Getting to know you better and listening to you and Sam chat each morning has been one of the highlights of my past year for sure!

Congratulations on a productive 2025, Dan.

I feel like if you reverse the order of the masterpieces reviewed, “Superbad Psycho Sherlock Jr.” could be an incredible name for a rapper.

To quote the great Robin Williams by way of Andrew Martin – “one is glad to be of service”.

…

On a less serious note, one can barely express my disappointment that this Uear has yet to produce the ‘DEATH OF STALIN, but Donald Trump’ screen comedy I keep hoping that the school of Mr Armando Ianucci will someday get around to.

Seriously, we need something to put into context how much less important Mr Trump is than he believes himself to be (Especially to his backers, as opposed to his supporters).

Given we know that hungry eyes are stalking this blog in pursuit of ideas – just look at your shortlist of Slasher movies! – I’m happy to drop off that idea for their consideration, but I’m holding onto the title that goes with that concept because I really, really like it.
