2009 Top 100 Rewatch

During the summer of 2009, when I was about to start my senior year of college, I made a list of my top 100 favorite films.

Suffice it to say my taste in cinema has shifted a lot since then… But many of these remain core favorites of mine.

I decided to rewatch all 100 movies (actually 99… I accidentally included Garden State in two different slots when I made the list), starting with #100 and working my way up to #1.

The goal is to figure out how I feel about these movies more than a decade later, and establish a new personal “canon” of favorite movies, including some but not all of these. (New Top 100 coming sometime soon!) (Edit: Here’s my new Top 100!)
