Last week, I voted on nominations for the 27th OFCS Awards. On 1/17, the OFCS announced the nominees, and I’ve tried to catch up with as many as I could in the days since.
For each category, I rank vote the films I’ve seen in the category. Here’s the ballot I submitted.
The main rule I set for myself was that I adhered to the ranked order of my nomination ballot where applicable so as not to go crazy re-litigating every category.
As with my nomination ballot, I’m not going to provide any rationale or justification for any of these selections, as I’ll have a separate “awards” post closer to the Oscars. (But I do want to specially shout out The Zone of Interest, which is an unusual and challenging work that I finished just a couple hours before the ballot was due, so I didn’t really have time to fully process it, and is subject to swing around some in my estimation.)
