Thus begins my third annual October binge of an esteemed slasher franchise. Using the curriculum of renowned slasher enthusiast Brennan Klein, I watched Scream 1, 2, 3, and 4 in 2021 (somehow two more have released since then). In 2022, I watched the sprawling Halloween series from start to finish. And now I hit the next curriculum item on Brennan’s list, the Friday the 13th series. The schlockiest of the big slasher franchises. (The fact this October has a Friday the 13th is pure coincidence.) I at least am hoping for more goofy fun than Halloween tended to offer. Stay tuned.
