Podcast Episode: Dear Christmas (2020) ft. Brennan Klein – A cookie-cutter Christmas

Dan and Brian welcome Brennan Klein from Alternate Ending to celebrate some of their shared cinematic interests and then dissect a strange COVID-era holiday romcom, Dear Christmas. Join as they discuss the ranking of Disney’s Zombies movies, the Hallmark-and-co holiday romcom industrial complex, the alien qualities of a quarantine production, the many occupations of Jason Priestley’s character, ephemeral conflict, the baffling depiction of podcasting, glassblowing music, and the fine line between bland and bizarre.

A very happy new year to you – may AD 2026 deliver THE GOODS just as well as your own splendid self!

Happy New Year, ED! 2026 gotta be a good one. We’re overdue as a human race, right? (Honestly, both 2024 and 2025 treated me well personally, so I shouldn’t complain!)

I took most of December off from writing, partially as a personal reprieve and partially as a backbreaking bout of writers’ block and motivational diffusion. Hoping to bounce back here in January.
