Few directors of the twentieth century have made such a profound impact on cinema with such efficiency as English director Jonathan Glazer. In just four features, Glazer has invented cinematic languages, stripped down and rebuilt the audience’s gaze, and pushed the limits of conventional cinema further with each outing. He’s been recognized for it, too: His third film, Under the Skin, about a quasi-human serial killer, soared up best-of-the-decade lists. His fourth film, the inside-out Holocaust film The Zone of Interest, earned a Best Picture nomination. Glazer has come a long way from his music video-directing days.
