Few films of the past decade captured my heart quite as much as Shithouse, a remarkably sensitive portrait despite its crass name. The bittersweet, Linklater-inspired college romance is written by, directed by, and starring a 23-year-old on a tiny budget, but won SXSW Jury Grand Prize. Raiff’s career is too new to draw too many conclusions, but he has a wide open future as one of the most intriguing young dramedy talents in Hollywood.
