Die Hard (1988)

What’s amazing about this movie is that every time you hit 2-3 minutes where you think you know where it is, it throws a curveball at you. It’s just one of the most engaging action movies of all time, with a great (flawed) hero and a great (likeable) villain and an all-time great setting.

Too bad the politics are a mixed bag. I love the anti-corporation satire; I hate the pro-cops-shooting-people stuff; I’m mixed on the depiction of marriage and family units. Why be so anti-women-with-careers?

But holy shit this is a masterpiece. Fullstop. Go watch it if you haven’t. And go watch it if you have.

Is It Good?

Masterpiece: Tour De Good (8/8)
